This is a unique opportunity for innovative entrepreneurs who want to gain global recognition, receive international feedback, broaden their horizons, and take their business to the next level! This competition, organized by JCI Czech Republic, is the Czech version of the prestigious international contest Creative Young Entrepreneur. It offers young entrepreneurs and leaders worldwide a chance to showcase their potential!

Who is JCI? We are Junior Chamber International (JCI - Developing Leaders for a Changing World), a global leadership organization with a tradition dating back to 1915. Today, we have over 150,000 active members in more than 120 countries worldwide! Our goal is to be a driving force for change in society, starting with ourselves. We actively develop our skills to lead ourselves, lead others, and work in teams, seek out new challenges, and find solutions to current problems in our communities. 13:00 - 13:30  Climate Crisis Workshop with Dr. Anthony Smith

Calling all Rotaractors! Join Dr. Anthony Smith, a seasoned climate expert with over 20 years of experience working in the EU on climate action, for an engaging workshop on the climate crisis and the vital role young leaders can play in addressing it. Dr. Smith’s work has shown him firsthand that the world is on a path toward environmental disaster, and he believes that Rotaract has the power to lead transformative change.
 
Did you know?
     • 1988 – Rotary joined WHO and UNICEF to fight polio. Today, we face an even greater challenge: climate change.
     • 2018 – The IPCC issued a call for drastic reductions in emissions starting in 2020, yet emissions have only increased.
     • 2023 – This year set a new record for CO₂ emissions, underscoring the urgency of our situation.
     • Now – We are headed toward a global catastrophe by 2100, or even sooner, if we don’t act now.

 
In this workshop, Dr. Smith will lead an interactive discussion on the main causes of climate change, the key sectors contributing to emissions, and the long-term impacts for future generations. You’ll also have the chance to join Dr. Smith’s initiative to make the Climate Crisis a central focus within Rotaract—aligning with the legacy of Rotary’s founders and empowering Rotaractors to drive change.
